3 Ways To Overcome Procrastination

It can feel good to procrastinate. But procrastination leads to short-term comfort and long-term complications. In this video, I share 3 ways to overcome procrastination with any kind of task.

3 ways to overcome procrastination:

1. Change your mindset. When faced with discomfort, we want to get away from it. This is why we procrastinate. It feels better to ignore the thing that is causing us discomfort. Remember, that feeling is only short-term. Instead of focusing on the negative feeling about having to get it done, focus on the positive feeling you will have after it is done.

2. Use motivation to your advantage. Think about what you can do once you complete your task or think about the consequences that will happen if you don’t complete the task. Which motivates you most to get the job done? The good that will happen or the not so good?

3. Ask someone to hold you accountable. We all need people in our lives who will encourage us to do the things we don’t want to do in order to develop into the people we want to become. This can be family members, friends, teachers, or coaches.
