"It's not you, it's me," the typical break-up statement. Respect is like that because it's something you give to other people because of who you are, not because of who they are. It's easy to respect people who respect you, but they have to earn it first, right? I don't agree with that. I don't think you should let people bully you, but you can treat people with respect even when they are disrespectful to you. It's not easy, but it is a choice and it's about you first.
